EMPOWERING THE YOUTH: LGU, 53IB Launches First Batch of Youth Leadership Summit

The Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) launches the first batch of Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) in a simple opening ceremony held at the Dumingag Institute of Sustainable Organic Agriculture (DISOA), Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on June 14, 2021

The YLS aims to equip the youth with necessary leadership skills and advocate good citizenship while ensuring an intact sense of identity and wellbeing.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dumingag Vice Mayor Mydell Pacalioga, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President and Municipal Youth Development Officer Leah Mae Povadora, and 53IB Alpha Company Executive Officer 1Lt. Jay Mar Paderes.

The conduct of Youth Leadership Summits is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
