FORGING UNITY, EMPOWERING RECONCILIATION: DSWD-IX Extends Payout to 53 Friends Rescued by ZDS PTF-ELCAC
The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Region 9 (DSWD-IX) takes a significant step in supporting the reintegration of Friends Rescued (FRs) who have returned to the folds of the law, as it disburses financial assistance payouts to fifty-three (53) Friends Rescued by the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ZDS PTF-ELCAC). The momentous event took place at the Headquarters 53IB, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on August 16, 2023.
The event was participated by esteemed individuals who have contributed to the success of the Friends Rescued initiative and the ongoing efforts to foster peace and security in the region. The events distinguished guests include Ms. Cledelou Zaragoza, DSWD-IX ELCAC Focal Person; Bgen Elmer B Suderio, Commander of 102 Bde, 1ID, PA; Hon. John M Regala, Board Member, Committee Chairman on Peace and Order, ZDS; PMAJ Jerome Pamalaran, ZDSPPO representative; Mr. Dave M. Barrot, LGOO VI, ELCAC/ECLIP DILG Focal Person and Lt.Col Terence Ylanan Commanding Officer of this unit.
The ceremony serves as a testament to the shared commitment of multiple stakeholders in embracing individuals who have chosen the path of reconciliation and peace.
