53rd IB capacitates troops in photojournalism, combat photography

Five enlisted personnel of 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion finished their 3-day training in Photojournalism and Combat Photography on October 7, 2020 held at 53rd IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Aside from taking pictures, the students were also educated on CMO fundamentals, Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), news writing, and production of press releases.

It also intends to provide the troops with the necessary skill set who will be working in hostile environments especially in war zones.

Combat photography and photojournalism is necessary in order to document combat and non-combat operations. Troops in this job help create the official record for Army missions and operations.

Army photographers have to be able to quickly react to any situation in any environment. One must always be ready, with equipment in good shape and batteries are charged.
