Army, LGU Breaks Ground for Multipurpose Building at Elementary School in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur

The Municipal Government of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, together with the Philippine Army’s 547th Engineer “Agila” Battalion (547EBn) and 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) broke ground for the construction of a new multipurpose building on March 7, 2024, at Tubo-Pait Elementary School in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

The ceremony was graced by Dumalinao Mayor Hon. Junaflor Cerilles, and was attended by 547EBn Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Benjamin Carag II and 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence Ylanan. Barangay Officials, teachers, parents, and students also witnessed the momentous event.

The occasion emphasized the importance of education in empowering individuals and uplifting communities. The new building will serve as a valuable resource for assemblies, academic programs, and community gatherings. With a targeted completion date set before graduation, this collaborative effort will provide much-needed space for school activities and enhance the learning experience for students for the coming school year.
