PNP-AFP Collaboration Strengthens as Zamboanga del Sur PMFC Force Commanders Pay Courtesy Call to 53rd IB

Underscoring the importance of collaboration and joint efforts in securing the province, Force Commanders of the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs) paid a courtesy call to the Commanding Officer of the 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) today, February 14, 2024, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

PLTC JAYSON M APANA, Commander of the 1st PMFC, and PMAJ MARLON C MANGAN-NAY, Commander of the 2nd PMFC, met with 53IB Commanding Officer LTC TERENCE YLANAN to discuss strategies for enhanced cooperation, convergence, and collaboration to sustain an insurgency-free and development-ready Province of Zamboanga del Sur.

Lt. Col. Ylanan warmly welcomed the PMFC Force Commanders and reaffirmed the 53IB’s commitment to collaborative efforts. An Information Briefing was also delivered by 53IB Operations Officer 1Lt. Janryl Gumalad to apprise them of the current thrusts of the Battalion.

The meeting highlighted the strong commitment of both the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) and the 53IB to work hand-in-hand in addressing security challenges in Zamboanga del Sur.

The courtesy call concluded with renewed assurances of cooperation and a commitment to work closely together to maintain peace and order in Zamboanga del Sur. This successful courtesy call serves as a testament to the strengthened synergy between the 1st and 2nd PMFCs and the 53IB in the province, setting a positive example for collaborative efforts in ensuring security.
