STRENGTHENING LAW ENFORCEMENT CAPABILITIES: Land Transportation Office 9 Conducts Deputation Seminar for Matapat Troops

The Land Transportation Office Region 9 (LTO 9) headed by Regional Director Johan Macaumbos and the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) strengthens law enforcement capabilities as the LTO 9 conducted the LTO Deputation Seminar for Matapat Troops last August 9, 2023, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The seminar was graced by Mr. Olloy K. Jalaluddin, LTO Chief of Operations for Region 9.

The Matapat troops were presented with a comprehensive curriculum that covered various aspects of traffic law enforcement, including traffic regulations, best practices in handling different traffic scenarios, and effective communication with the public. The seminar provided an opportunity for Matapat troops to engage with experts from the LTO and share insights, fostering a collaborative approach to road safety.

It can be remembered that a resolution was passed during the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Peace and Order Council held on July 14, 2023, requesting the LTO to deputize the 53IB, making the Matapat troops partners of LTO enforcers in checkpoint operations.

The seminar was conducted with the help of LTO Enforcers Mikunog Bongcarawan Polangi, Al-Ahmad Nassif A. Panda, Amerol H. Cuaro, Crispin E. Quilala Jr., and Erwin F. Española.
