SUSTAINING FR LIVELIHOOD ENTERPRISE: DOLE, Dumalinao LGU, LIFABEMCO Award Kits, Turnover Boodle Bar and Sparadise Project to Friends Rescued
The Department of Labor and Employment – Region IX (DOLE-IX) and Lindongan Farmers Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LIFABEMCO) awarded the kits for the Boodle Bar and Sparadise livelihood enterprise project to the Friends Rescued of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) in a momentous Turnover Ceremony held on April 4, 2023, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Major David Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
The event was graced by DOLE-IX Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe together with LIFABEMCO Manager Ms. Renita Daway, DOLE-ZDS Field Office Chief LEO Miraflor J. Casanes, and Dumalinao Municipal Mayor Hon. Junaflor Cerilles.
In his message, DOLE-IX Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe said that the Department is always ready to help those in need, including the FRs.
In behalf of the FRs, Roselyn T. Laurete, President of 53IB Friends Rescued Good Life Agriculture Cooperative, also expressed her appreciation for the support provided by DOLE-IX and LIFABEMCO.
Meanwhile, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence Ylanan also expressed his gratitude to Atty. Buenafe, Ms. Daway, and Hon. Cerilles for their support into the realization of the project.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held after the event to officially turnover the Boodle Bar and Sparadise to the Friends Rescued. A tour of the newly turned-over businesses followed, showcasing the amenities and equipment provided to the Friends Rescued.
