TRANSFORMATION PROGRAM FOR FRIENDS RESCUED: OPAPRU, DILG Conducts 2-Day Transformation Program-Planning Workshop

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) as the co-chair of National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) Localized Peace Engagement Cluster together with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), held the 2-day Planning Workshop to implement the Transformation Program for Friends Rescued (FR), their families, and their communities on March 28-29, 2023, at Balay Bisaya, Provincial Government Complex, Dao, Pagadian City.

The program was graced by Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) Chairperson and Governor Victor J. Yu and was attended by Regional Adviser on Peace and Security Ret. Maj. Gen. Rene Glen Paje, NTF-ELCAC Director for Operations Arnulfo Ferdinand Bajarin, DILG-ZDS Provincial Director Moh. Taha S. Arakama, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence P Ylanan, ZamboSur Police Provincial Director PCol. Diomarie Albarico, and representatives from government agencies at the provincial level.

The Planning Workshop aimed to facilitate the formulation of conflict-sensitive and peace promoting Transformation Program for Former Rebels and their Communities with security, socioeconomic development, confidence-building measures, and healing and reconciliation aspects.
