BOOSTING TROOPS’ MORALE: “Igsoon” Brigade Commander Visits Home of Matapat Troopers; Dons Ranks and Awards Deserving Troops

The Commander of the Army’s 102nd Infantry “Igsoon” Brigade (102Bde) Col. Elmer B Suderio boosted the morale of the Matapat Troopers as he talked to them during his visit to 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on March 9, 2023.

The Brigade Commander also graced the donning of ranks of 5 newly-promoted personnel and awarding of Military Merit Medals to 3 outstanding Matapat Troopers.

In his message to the troops, Col. Suderio reiterated his four guidance: A Disciplined Soldier, Dedicated to Duty, Love our family, and endeavor to have a non-toxic working environment. He believes that exemplifying these four, mission accomplishment will follow.

He commended the Matapat Troopers for their contributions to maintaining peace in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur.

“I am so honored to lead the 102nd Infantry (Igsoon) Brigade as well as its subordinate units, a world-class army that is dedicated to protecting the Filipino people and ensuring peace and security in our communities,” Colonel Suderio said.

“Through our continued partnership with the local government, we will work together to maintain the gains we have achieved in our fight against insurgency and terrorism.” Colonel Suderio added

Col. Suderio also talked to the Friends Rescued (FRs) of 53IB and had a tree planting with them at the Good Life Village – the Halfway House for FRs – just outside the camp.
