53IB and ZDS Provincial Leaders Welcomes New IGSOON Brigade Commander

The Philippine Army’s 102nd Infantry “Igsoon” Brigade (102Bde) witnessed the change of leadership in a ceremony presided by Maj. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, Commander, 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (1ID) on March 4, 2023, at 102Bde Headquarters, Brgy. Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

Col. Eddie M Pilapil, the outgoing Acting Commander, relinquished his post to Col. Elmer B Suderio. Both are members of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Maalab” Class of 1993.

The newly installed Brigade Commander, Col. Suderio, promised to sustain the peace in Zamboanga Peninsula and Misamis Occidental provinces. He also assured the troops that he would continue the excellent work of his predecessor and lead the brigade to greater heights.

The 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) led by its Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence P Ylanan, extends its warm welcome to Col. Suderio as he takes his post as the new Igsoon Brigade Commander.

Also present during the Change of Command Ceremony were the Unit Commanders under 102Bde; ZamboSur Governor Victor J. Yu represented by ZDS Board Member Mapi Obaob; ZamboSur 1st District Representative Hon. Divina Grace C. Yu represented by Pagadian City Councilor Hon. Aiko Yu To; and ZamboSur 2nd District Representative Hon. Jeyzel Victoria Yu represented by Lakewood Mayor Domingo Mirrar.
