TRANSFORMING LIVES: OPAPRU, Friends Rescued Ink Contract for Transformation Program in Zamboanga Peninsula
The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) headed by Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. and the Special Project Team (SPT) composed of the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Friends Rescued (FR) Organization Officers sign contract for OPAPRU’s Transformation Program for FRs in Zamboanga Peninsula in a momentous and historic event held today, December 27, 2022, at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
The FR Officers will then be assigned to Local Transformation Offices as Administrative Aides II –Component Coordinators to provide services needed by the OPAPRU, primarily to assist the Regional and the Assistant Coordinator in coordinating with Regional Line Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region IX for the implementation of the Transformation Program and its Components.
53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence P. Ylanan, speaking in behalf of COL PILAPIL, Acting Brigade Commander of 102Bde, expressed his gratitude to OPAPRU for spearheading the transformation program for the FRs.
Meanwhile, Sec. Galvez in his message also congratulated the FRs for their decision to take the peaceful approach to change their lives.
“Sa araw na ito, ay masaya akong makita na ang mga miyembro ng FR organization na ito, partikular na ang Regional at Component Coordinators, ay gumawa na naman ng isang napakahalagang hakbang sa kanilang paglalakbay tungo sa kapayapaan. Sapagkat ngayong hapon na ito, kanilang pipirmahan ang kanilang kontrata bilang mga special project team members ng ating Transformation Program sa Zamboanga Peninsula,” Sec. Galvez said.
The FRs also expressed their gratitude to Sec. Galvez and the whole of OPAPRU for giving them the opportunity to be part of the government’s efforts to finally end local communist armed conflict.
The Regional FR Organization Officers were elected during the ZamPen Regional FR Summit held last October 6, 2022 at 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, ZDS.
