The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion conducted Bangsamoro Barangay Peace Forum held at Brgy Tapodoc, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur on 30 November 2022.

The activity was participated by more or less one thousand two hundred (1,200) Muslim residents of Labangan. Cpt Bahnarin Camsa, the Battalion Executive Officer of 53IB, discussed Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) and encouraged everyone to help maintain peace and order in the said municipality.

The event was graced by Mr Muztapha “Pang” Piang, BPCC Chairman. Also, it is attended by Hon Azralf Manupac Vice-Mayor Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur, Hon Sukarno Mamasalagat, SB Member of the municipality of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, Atty Borudin Mantolino, BPCC Consultant, Professor Noron Andan Executive Assistant Director Outside BARMM, Hon Moctar Ungad, and Brgy Chairman of Tapodoc.

The activity underscores 53IB’s commitment to serving the people as it remains supportive in the maintenance of peaceful communities in the province.
