CAPACITATING TROOPS: 53IB Hones Troops’ Skills on Disaster Response Operations
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) continues to hone the skills of its troops in Disaster Risk Reduction Operations (DRRO) as it concludes the said training today, October 28, 2022, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
The 3-day training which started on October 25 aimed to capacitate the troops in the conduct of DRRO and prepare them in times of disasters in order to be more effective on their roles as members of Disaster Response Units (DRUs).
53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence P Ylanan said in his message that this training will significantly enhance the skills and confidence of the troops during disaster response operations.
“Honing our skills in disaster response operations will make us better serve our fellow Filipinos in this rainy season,” said Lt. Col. Ylanan.
