GOVERMENT’S SUSTAINMENT EFFORTS: DOLE Turns Over Check for FR Livelihood Enterprise

The Department of Labor and Employment – Region 9 (DOLE-IX) through its Zamboanga del Sur Field Office (ZDSFO) turned over a check amounting to Php 1,003,825.00 to LIFABEMCO, its partner cooperative, for the livelihood enterprise of our Friends Rescued (FRs) in a momentous turnover ceremony held on October 19, 2022, at DOLE-ZDSFO, Pagadian City.

The assistance is part of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) Group Project funded for 51 FRs on the Matapat Boodle Diner (Canteen) and Sparadise (Spa) Group Project.

In his message, DOLE-IX Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe said that the Department is always ready to help those in need.

Meanwhile, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Terence P. Ylanan expressed his gratitude to DOLE and its partners for the grant.

“This will be of great help to our FRs now that we are prioritizing their transition to the mainstream society. We at the 53IB and our FRs deeply appreciate this sustainment effort,” said Lt. Col. Ylanan.

DOLE-IX continues to be a generous partner of the 53IB in its convergence and sustainment efforts and has provided numerous programs for our FRs, including TUPAD, Government Internship Program, and distribution of individual projects and starter kits funded under the DILP.

Also present in the activity were the project co-proprietor and Dumalinao Municipal Mayor Hon. Junaflor Cerilles, LIFABEMCO General Manager Ms. Renita Daway, and FRs of 53IB.
