RECOGNIZING COMMITMENT TO SERVICE: 53IB’s Operations Officer Awarded as 2022 Best Company Grade Officer During 70th Araw ng Zamboanga del Sur

The Operations Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) 1Lt. Luke Creighton G Patacsil was awarded as the “2022 Best Company Grade Officer” by Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor J. Yu during the Most Outstanding Zambosurians Awarding Ceremony held at the Pavilion Gym, Provincial Government Complex, Dao, Pagadian City on September 17, 2022.

The awarding was part of the 70th Araw ng Zamboanga del Sur celebration with the theme: “Let’s pump up our H.E.A.R.T.S as we gear towards the golden era of Zamboanga del Sur.”

As a hard-working and highly competent Officer, 1Lt. Patacsil was recognized for his peculiar and relentless services as Platoon Leader of 53IB’s Scout Platoon during combat encounters against members of Guerilla Front BBC (GF-BBC) of the CPP-NPA’s Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee (WMRPC) resulting to the recovery of one (1) M16A1 assault rifle, one (1) M16 magazine (short), eighteen (18) rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, personal belongings, assorted medical paraphernalia, and one (1) portable burner.

The successful encounters led by 1Lt. Patacsil have contributed significantly to the dismantlement of the GF-BBC, WMRPC. With these remarkable achievements, 1Lt. Patacsil is hereby awarded this special recognition for his commitment to help and maintain a lasting peace and order in the province making it conductive for future development.
