Friend Rescued Gets Emotional, Gives Testimony to Government’s Sincerity in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict
Marbie Nano, a friend rescued (FR) of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), gets emotional with DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos as she gives testimony to the government’s sincerity in ending the local communist armed conflict in the country.
Marbie expressed her gratitude to the 53IB and the government in general for giving her another chance. She decided to return to the folds of law after her group clashed with the troops of the 53IB in 2016.
Marbie is now on her 3rd year as an A.B. Political Science student in JH Cerilles State College in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. She is also a completer of Project Good Life, 53IB’s deradicalization and psychoeducation program for FRs.
