CAPACITATING LEADERS: 53IB Strengthens Leadership, Mental Health of NCOs

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) opened the Batch 4 of NCO Leadership Forum 2022 in an activity held today, July 26, 2022, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Maj. David Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The NCO Forum aims to reiterate the leadership roles of NCOs in the performance of duties and responsibilities through lectures about NCO leadership and support channel.

The said forum also forms part of Project Best Life, a research-based mental health and wellbeing program initiated by 53IB to deal the gap of health and knowledge relative to the troops’ wellbeing. It is anchored in the Philippine Army Mental Health Program to improve the overall, physical, social, angd psychological well-being of the NCOs.

In his message, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera encouraged the NCO participants to always put excellence and passion in everything they do.

“Lead by excellence and by example. Your leadership skills as well as your mental strength and stability are crucial to our organization’s mission accomplishment,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
