STRENGTHENING CONVERGENCE: Pagadian City Committee Chair on Public Safety Visits 53IB, Receives Security Briefing

The Chairperson of Pagadian City Commitee on Police, Fire, and Public Safety Hon. Sam Tyra Co visited and paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) yesterday, July 21, 2022, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Hon. Co was apprised on the security measures in Pagadian City including the utilization of reservists and CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) and the sustainment of 53IB’s Adopt-a-CAFGU Project.

In her message, Hon. Co expressed her gratitude to the 53IB for the briefing and warm welcome.

“I see the importance of maintaining peace and order in the community to make way for faster progress and development,” said Hon. Tyra Co, who is also a Captain in the Army’s reserve force.

Meanwhile, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera also expressed his gratitude to Hon. Co for her continued support to the 53IB.

“I express my utmost gratitude to Hon. Sam Tyra Co for her continued support to our Battalion. I am optimistic that our gains will be maximized to sustain an insurgency-free Pagadian City,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
