The author of the book “Beyond the Surface” Dr. Moibe Olitres and the Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera conducted a book signing activity at the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 9 (DA Region IXDepartment of Agriculture ZAMPEN) in Barangay Lenienza, Pagadian City on July 21, 2022.

BEYOND THE SURFACE contains compelling revelations and an in-depth understanding of the psychology of terrorist and offers a basis for the Philippine Army’s soft-power approach in partnership with various local government units and government agencies in formulating intervention and deradicalization programs for former CPP-NPA-NDF terrorists. The book was foreworded by Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito D. Bautista and epilogue by Lt. Col. Herrera.
