ICYMI | Kumalarang LGU Presents Commendation to 53IB
Kumalarang Mayor Ruel Molina presented a resolution commending Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), for his invaluable efforts and contributions in achieving an insurgency-free Kumalarang and achieving peaceful and harmonious National and Local Elections (NLE 2022) in the municipality in a simple activity on July 18, 2022.
Also, a Certificate of Commendation was presented by Mayor Molina to Lt. Col. Herrera for his valuable efforts and meritorious contributions being the Battalion Commander who spearheaded all operations and undertakings designed to combat terrorism in the municipality. The Commendation further certifies and recognizes the exemplary leadership and valor exemplified by Lt. Col. Herrera during the NLE 2022 in securing and achieving a peaceful, honest, and violence-free elections last May 9, 2022.
Lt. Col. Herrera in a statement expressed his gratitude to Mayor Molina for the said commendations.
“I offer this commendation and accomplishment to the whole of 53IB. Their excellence, dedication, and passion to duty are vital to these achievements,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
In September 2021, the Municipality of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur was declared “insurgency-free and ready for development” by virtue of Municipal Resolution No. 100 S. 2021.
