53IB, Tug of War Author Conduct Book Signing Activity in Dumalinao

The author of the book “Tug of War” Ms. Leonilyn Costino-Balaod and the Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera conducted a book signing activity prior the 3rd MPOC-MADAC Meeting in Municipal Function Hall, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur on July 13, 2022.

Lt. Col. Herrera and Ms. Leonilyn Costino-Balaod signed the books for the attendees of the MPOC-MADAC meeting.

“Tug of War | Victory in Time of Convergence: How the 53IB and Stakeholders Ended the Local Communist Armed Conflict in Zamboanga del Sur” is a compendium of the feats and achievements of 53IB, ZDS PTF-ELCAC, and stakeholders in defeating the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) in Zamboanga del Sur.

The book narrates the lessons learned, innovations, and best practices in counterinsurgency operations and stakeholder engagement.
