ENSURING SMOOTH AND SAFE FLOW OF ELECTIONS: 53IB, PNP, COMELEC Participate in Joint Security Control Center Meeting
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO), and COMELEC-Zamboanga del Sur participated in the Final Command Conference and Provincial Joint Security Control Center Meeting for the May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections at Subanen Hall, Provincial Government Complex, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City on May 3, 2022.
The said meeting highlighted the creation and establishment of the Joint Provincial Election Monitoring Center (PEMAC).53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said the 53IB will maintain high level of professionalism to ensure safe and fair elections.
“The 53IB will uphold its professionalism and integrity in executing its mandate to keep the upcoming elections safe, secure, free, and fair,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
“We must remember the 4Cs to SAFE elections: Communication to ensure understanding and peaceful resolution; Collaboration to maximize partnership and cooperation; Convergence to optimize resources and efforts; and Commitment to flag and country, remaining apolitical at all times,” Lt. Col. Herrera added.
Also participated the activity are ZSPPO Provincial Director PCol. Diomarie Albarico, ZDS Election Supervisor Atty. Roberto Dela Peña, and Zamboanga del Sur COMELEC Election Officers.
