ICYMI: 53IB Conducts Peace Forum in Molave in Preparation to National and Local Elections 2022
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) conducted a Local Peace Forum in connection with the 2022 National and Local Elections which was participated by the candidates for mayoral, vice-mayoral, barangay official posts in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur on April 29, 2022.
The peace forum featured the lecture on gun ban and illegal firearms which was delivered Atty. Gretchen Ortega, and the convergence and collaboration between the 53IB and the PNP and the cooperation of the candidates toward a peaceful and secured elections.
In his message, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera encouraged the Barangay Chairmen to do their roles as the chairmen of their respective Barangay Peace and Order Councils (BPOC).
“As chairmen of the BPOC, you can do so much in accomplishing the peace and order in your respective barangays. Let us do our roles,” urged Lt. Col. Herrera.
Molave Chief of Police PLt. Col. Juliuzar Asdani assured the participants that peace spoilers will face the consequences.
“We are serious in maintaining peace and security. We hope that there will be no further election-related incidents come May,” said PLt. Col. Asdani.
