DISTINGUISHING INVALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS: 53IB Officers, Troops Receive Military Merit and Commendation Medals

Officers and troops of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) received Military Merit Medals (MMM) and Military Commendation Medals (MCM) for their meritorious and invaluable contributions to the unit’s mission in a simple awarding activity during the Flag Raising Ceremony held yesterday, March 21, at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

Three (3) Officers and two (2) enlisted personnel received the MMM:

1. 1Lt. Luke Creighton Patacsil

2. 1Lt. Magno Relado

3. 1Lt. Kim Cedrick Lemus

4. SSg Bernardo Biton

5. SSg Noli Layoge

Meanwhile, seven (7) troops received the MCM:

1. Cpl Dennis Manait

2. PFC Jonald Leuterio

3. PFC Sherwin Bartolome

4. Pvt John Dave Estrada

5. Pvt Kim Ryan Balili

6. Pvt Deoan Capua

7. Pvt Manuel Endino III

In his message, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera congratulated the troops for their well-deserved award, encouraging them to always strive for excellence.

“Always strive for excellence. Put your heart in everything you do, especially your tasks, and do it well with passion,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
