EPITOME OF EXCELLENCE | AGP Gold Trailblazer Award Conferred to 53IB

In a simple awarding ceremony in connection with its 37th Founding Anniversary celebration, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) was conferred the Army Governance Pathway (AGP) Proficient Status with Gold Trailblazer Award on January 28, 2022 at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The award was presented by the Chief of Army’s 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (1ID) Governance and Strategy Management Office (GSMO) Col. Norberto Agbay.

53IB garnered a rating of 96.47% during the AGP Proficient Stage Revalida Presentation which was held last November 25, 2021.In a statement, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera expressed his gratitude for the conferral of the said award, saying that the Battalion shall continue to strive for excellence.

“The conferral of Proficient Status with Gold Trailblazer Award is the result of 53IB troops’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to duty. The Battalion shall continue to strive for excellence,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.

The 53IB Transformation Roadmap (53IBTR) is aligned to the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR). The ATR was conceptualized purposely to pave the way for the transformation of the whole Philippine Army into a strategy driven, efficient, fully mission capable, ethical, competent and professional organization committed to its mandate of serving the people and securing the land.
