SOLIDIFYING DEFEAT OF CPP-NPA: Lapuyan, Dimataling Municipalities Declared as “Insurgency Free”
The Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) of Lapuyan and Dimataling, both municipalities of Zamboanga del Sur have solidified the defeat of CPP-NPA in their respective towns through resolutions declaring said municipalities as “Insurgency Free” held on November 11, at 53rd IB Headquarters in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
The Lapuyan resolution was presented by Lapuyan Municipal Mayor Joel Sulong, while the Dimataling resolution was presented by Dimataling Barangay Chairmen together with OIC, Dimataling MPS PMaj Herminigildo Bajao.
“The declaration of Zamboanga del Sur as insurgency free is the fruit of concerted efforts of the AFP, LGUs and the Barangays against violence and terrorism.
Thru ELCAC, various government agencies adhered to developing previously affected barangays to sustain “free insurgency” in the hinterlands,” said Lt. Col Herrera.
The said resolutions will boost the confidence of investors, paving the way for progress and development for Lapuyan and Dimataling.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
