DISASTER READINESS | 53IB Provides Assistance During Landslide in Lakewood

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion conducted disaster response and rescue operations after a landslide occurred at Purok 2, Barangay Gatub, Lakewood Zamboanga del Sur last October 20, 2021.

53IB’s Charlie Company Executive Officer 2Lt Magno Relado Jr and other Matapat Troopers, together with Lakewood PNP led by PLt. Elvin Rosales, provided assistance and security at the vicinity of the landslide.

According to the report, the landslide damaged multiple vehicles with two wounded persons who were brought to the hospital for immediate medication.
