STRENGTHENING CONVERGENCE: 53IB Attends Peace and Order Council Meeting in Midsalip

To further strengthen its convergence with the LGU and other partner agencies, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) participated in the recently-concluded Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) at GAD Building, Municipal Compound, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

The topics discussed by 53IB during the meeting included the following: Situation update in Midsalip and 53IB’s Area of Responsibility, Updates on Balonai Patrol Base, peacebuilding activities, Critical Infrastructure, Investment Protection, and Security Operations (CIIPSO) in Midsalip, the unit’s Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program, and social media advocacy.

DILG/MLGOO updates were also given by Ms Ethel M Trobanos and discussed the following: Updates on Barangay Development (BDP) in the municipality.

The meeting was presided by – Municipal Mayor/MPOC Chairman Hon. Elmer M Soronio, and was attended by Vice Mayor Hon. Stewart R Padayhag, SB Member on Peace and Order Hon. Darlito S Mario, COP, Midsalip MPS P/Maj Juvic D Aballe, 53IB Alpha Company Commander 1Lt Janryl S Gumalad, MLGOO Ms Ethel M Trobanos, MHO Dr Janine Ann F Pangandian and other partner agencies.
