BROADENING STUDENT’S HORIZON: FRs Explore Livestock Farming in Lakewood

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion’s Project Good Life for Friends Rescued (FR’s) visited JHCSC Multiplier Farm at Biswangan, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur on October 1, 2021.

The purpose of this Educational tour is to provide students to get to experience a different setting for learning. It also provides opportunity to have a lively discussion in an informal set up that will also help in long term retention of the knowledge.

The FR students of the 53IB’s Project Good Life were grouped in to 6 teams according to their interest; Team Coffee, Team Mushroom, Team Soap, Team Swine, Team Chicken and Team Good Life Farm in which they are all part. The Team Swine is composed of Ten (10) FRs while Team Chicken is composed of Twelve (12) FRs.

It is more than the half of the total number of students that was enrolled in the said 53IB’s Project. The number also represent that majority of the students were inclined in Livestock Farming.

These students were welcome by the JHCSC Extension Director Mr. Ricky Egos, Planning Director Rodrigo Millares, Campus administrator Prof. Evelyn Cathag, Prof. Bobby Piscos and TESDA Provincial Director Engr. Allan Bacatan.
