PRIORITIZING EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: NCOs Participate in Mental Health and Wellness Workshop

With the aim to give premium on mental health and wellness, the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) participated in an Emotional Intelligence and Mindfulness Workshop for soldiers facilitated by 53IB’s Mental Health Consultant Dr. Moibe Ferrer Olitres, RGC during the NCO Leadership Forum held in Camp Sabido, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga Sur.

The seminar /workshop also aims to provide a macro level understanding of the current state of wellbeing of our soldiers and on how to address difficulties and improve their mental health and leadership potentials amid a psychologically-challenging career.

The said wellbeing seminar workshop is form part of 53IB’s Best Life Program, a research-based mental health and wellbeing program initiated by 53IB to deal the gap of health and knowledge relative to soldiers and CAA’s wellbeing.

This is also in accordance to the Philippine Army Mental Health Program (PAMHP).This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
