The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) participated in the Peace and Order Council Meeting held at Pagadian City Mayor’s Office on August 25, 2021.
Presided by Pagadian City mayor Samuel Co, the meeting tackled about the shooting incident that transpired on August 25, 2021; plans and counter-measures on future shooting incidents; and plans on establishing a Task Force Pagadian.53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera in a statement assured that the 53IB will continue its mandate of protecting the people, in partnership with other security forces.
“In close convergence and collaboration with our counterparts in the security sector, we will continue our mandate to protect the people,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
