DEVELOPING TECHNICAL SKILLS ON CROP PRODUCTION: Zamboanga del Sur Agriculture Office Impart Knowledge on Crop Production to 53IB’s Project Good Life Students

The Friend Rescued students of the the Philippines Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Project Good Life were imparted knowledge on Crop Production by the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Agriculture Office to capacitate the FRs’ skills on agriculture and vegetable farming.

The topics discussed about Crops Management and Development; the 5 keys to success for corn production; the HVC production and soil sampling; different kinds of good and bad soil for planting; pest and disease Management; and establishment of Cacao Nursery Management, grafting, and marcotting.

The Lecture was facilitated by Supervising Agriculturist Dr. Anedem P Ebillo together with Alma Paler, Dante Lao-ay, and Arthur Tan-awon.

Project Good Life for Friends Rescued (FRs) is an inclusive wellbeing psychoeducation program initiated by 53IB in partnership with various organizations and national government agencies that aims to translate the result of initial strength-based research inquiry among former rebels of the 53rd Infantry Battalion to community extension service.

It is a need-based program for FRs to support Executive Order 70 signed by the President which institutionalizes the Whole-of-Nation approach to end local communist armed conflict in the country.
