EMPOWERING NCO LEADERS: 53IB Conducts NCO Leadership Forum
To further enhance and develop the leadership skills of its Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion (53IB) conducted the First Batch of 3-day NCO Leadership Forum which also aims to develop the NCOs’ attributes and behavior.
The said forum also aims to enable the 38-strong NCOs to represent their interests in a responsible and self-determined way, acting on their own authority in leading and guiding Matapat troopers toward achieving the Commander’s Intent and mission accomplishment.
The NCOs also had lectures from Technical Sergeant Vicente Mayo, the Battalion Sergeant Major and different Staff Officers about leadership and the unit’s best practices.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
