SLIPPER: A GLIMPSE OF HOPE | Army Engages Impoverished Communities, gives slippers to children

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) continues to conduct community engagement activities in the hinterland barangay of Salvador in Dumingag town, Zamboanga del Sur on August 12, 2021.

In coordination with Barangay Officials headed by Barangay Chairman Luisito Cruz, the Matapat and Mahigalaon Troopers distributed the slippers which benefited eighty (83) children of the community.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
