FOOD CACHE DISCOVERED! Community, Army Unearth Rice Supply for CPP-NPA Terrorists

A burried rice supply for Communist-NPA Terrorists was unearthed by the joint efforts of the hinterland community in Barangay Salvador, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) through an information revealed by the community on July 25, 2021.

The community and the Army successfully recovered eight ( 8 ) gallons of the buried rice supplies after the information was disclosed by a certain Renato Panilagan, who discovered the said food supplies while he was hunting for wild boars.

The discovery and recovery of the buried food supplies was done with Salvador Barangay Captain Luisito Cruz, Barangay Officials, CVOs, and the BDS Team of Barangay Salvador, Dumingag, ZDS.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
