The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur advanced 53IB’s “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” for CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) at 53IB’s Bravo Company Command Post headquartered in the said barangay on July 15, 2021.
The activities conducted include free check-up and giving of medicines, operation tuli, dental mission, giving of PHILARPAT uniforms, and giving of food packs which benefitted the CAAs, their dependents, and the residents of Barangay Datu Tutukan.
Said activity was spearheaded by Dumingag Mayor Joan Abejuela, ABC President Jerson Cabahug, MHO Dra Ju Kanra Panugao, Barangay Chairwoman Merlita Galcon, staff from Municipal Planning and Development Office, representative from Dumingag Police Station, and 53IB Bravo “Boulders” Company Commander 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
