HEALTH CARE FOR THE POOR | 53IB, LGU Hold Medical Mission, Outreach Program to Poor Community

The Bravo “Boulders” Company of Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) in partnership with the Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur held a Medical Mission and Outreach Program for the residents and children studying at Marangan Elementary School in Barangay Marangan, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on July 19, 2021.

The activity included free medical checkup, operation tuli, and free haircut. 53IB Bravo Company Commanding Officer 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia facilitated the Health Fair together with Oplan Amuma Executive Director Mr Ronel Cabilan, MHO Dra. Ju Kanra Panugao, Dr. Reynaldo Vasquez, Barangay Chairwoman Hon Myrna Ornopia, and BFP SFO3 Ocliaso. Oplan Amuma is Dumingag’s counter-insurgency action plan anchored on Executive Order 70 signed by President Duterte.

It aims to institutionalize the whole-of-nation approach to totally end insurgency in the country.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
