FOSTERING PEACE: 53IB, LGU Champion Peace and Security Efforts in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) delivered peace and security updates during the Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Meeting in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur on July 19, 2021.
Significant updates delivered by 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt. Alvin Ibarra include: AFP updates, Situation update in Western Mindanao, Situation update in 53IB AOR, Situation update in Dinas, Peacebuilding activities, Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program, and Social Media Advocacy for Matapat Social Media Pages for daily updates.
Other updates include Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan Fund Utilization, drug clearing status and COVID-19 related protocols, and vaccination updates.
The meeting was presided by Dinas mayor Eleazer Asoy and was participated by MLGOO Ms Jehanne Lorelie Rodrigo; Dr. Christian Camache – RHU Dinas; RHU Health and Sanitation head Jimmy Oyapoc; Dinas Chief of Police PMaj Simplicio Pasaol Jr; the Barangay Chairmen of Dinas; and other Line Agencies.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
