ENDURING PEACE COMMITMENTS: 53IB, LGU Perpetuate Peace Efforts in Dimataling
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Municipal Government of Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur continues to perpetuate peace efforts at the recently-held Joint Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) held at Dimataling Gymnasium on July 16, 2021.

“We support the government through the Armed Forces against the NPA. We have already declared the CPP-NPA-NDF persona non grata; hence, they are not welcome here,” Mayor Yrauda said.Significant updates provided by other agencies also included the strict monitoring of illegal drugs, road clearing compliance, and fake organizations infiltrating the barangays to collect money. The meeting was also attended by Dimataling Vice Mayor Omar Buluan, MLGOO Ms. Maricar Bernante, ABC President Leoligario Albarico, all 24 Barangay Chairmen of Dimataling, and other government agencies.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
