RECOGNIZING CAFGU’S INVALUABLE SERVICE: Pagadian LGU, Launch Livelihood Program for CAFGU Dependents
As part of the “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” of Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), the City Government of Pagadian through Pagadian City First Councilor Cpt. Sam Tyra Co (Res) and 53IB launched the Livelihood Program for CAFGU Dependents during their visit to the two patrol bases in Pagadian City on July 13, 2021.
By virtue of the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 442, the CAFGU’S DEPENDENTS ASSOCIATION has been registeed as legitimate workers’ association for purposes of mutual aid and protection and promotion of the moral, social and economic well-being of its members, subject to all provisions of existing laws and regulations relating to workers’ associations.Cpt. Co and 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said this is one way of recognizing invaluable service rendered by CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs).
They distributed sacks of rice and also presented Certificates of Appreciation to CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) in Lison Valley and Lourdes Patrol Bases who have rendered a service of 20 years or more.In her message, Cpt. Co encouraged the CAAs and their dependents to “strive not to be a success but rather to be of value.”
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others, that to give without any reward or any notice has a special quality of its own.,” said Cpt. Co.”
I appreciate you and the many years of service you’ve rendered,” Cpt. Co added.Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Herrera thanked Cpt. Co for her outsanding support to the CAFGUs.
“I thank the City Government of Pagadian and Captain Co for their support to our CAFGUs. This is our way of expressing our gratitude to the CAFGUs because of their many years of service, this is the only time they get recognized,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
This activity is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
