In partnership with the Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) pushed its Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program at Sunop Patrol Base, Barangay Sunop, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on July 13, 2021.
Activities for Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program included free visitation check-up, operation tuli, dental mission, giving of free medicines, giving of food packs composed of rice and canned goods, giving of uniforms, free haircut, and a lecture on the CAAs’ Individual Scorecard.
These benefitted the CAAs, their dependents, and the residents of Barangay Sunop.
The activity was participated by 53IB Bravo Company Commander 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia; Dumingag ABC President Jerson Cabahug, Dra. Jukanra Panugao; Sunop Barangay Chairman Sarino Alas; and staff from Municipal Planning and Development Office.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
