Fallen Hero Homecoming | 53IB Provides Vigil, Assistance to Bereaved Family of Fallen Trooper

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) facilitated the transport of the cadaver of late Private First Class Marchi Bonzales from St. Peter Chapels in Barangay Sto Niño, Pagadian City to his home in Barangay Longmot, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur on July 12, 2021.

Late PFC Bonzales was one of the casualties during the ill-fated C130 crash in Sulu last July 4. The Matapat Troopers thus provided area security and extended transportation assistance to the family.

“We express our heartfelt sympathies to the family of PFC Bonzales,” said 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera.
