The Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera continued to instill the warrior ethos and duty to the Matapat Troopers during his visit to Ditulan Patrol Base in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on July 2, 2021.
“The warrior ethos and troops’ sense of duty should be reinforced to make sure that they will continue striving for excellence,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.Lt. Col. Herrera also awarded a Military Merit Medal to a Matapat Trooper and seven (7) CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) for their dedication to duty, meritorious performance, and invaluable service rendered to this unit.
This activty is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
