COMMUNITY SERVICE AMID PANDEMIC | 53IB Provides Assistance and Help to Hinterland Community in Kumalarang, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) provided assistance and help to the community at a hinterland purok in Barangay Boyugan West, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur on July 11, 2021.

The Matapat Troopers led by 53IB Charlie Company Executive Officer 2Lt Kim Cedrick Lemus conducted house-to-house visitations and distributed face masks to the community to help mitigate the effects of COVID-1.

The Matapat Troopers also distributed leaflets to communicate the government’s peace efforts and discourage the residents from supporting communist terrorist groups.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
