CRAFTING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP: 53IB Strengthens Peace and Order initiatives in Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) started to craft strategic partnership with Josefina, a municipality in Zamboanga del Sur formerly under the operational jurisdiction of Army’s 10th Infantry “Steady…On” Battalion (10IB), as it attended the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Meeting there last 06 July 2021
.At the meeting, 53IB’s Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer 2Lt. George Yu Jr. apprised Josefina mayor Catalino Adapon and other participants regarding the Current Enemy Situation Update, ELCAC Projects, 53IB’s peacebuilding efforts, community engagements, Project Good Life for Friends Rescued (FRs), Adopt-a-CAFGU Project, and Public Information efforts.
Also present at the meeting were 53IB Bravo Company Commander 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia; Litapan Patrol Base Commander; representatives from Josefina Police Station; and other government agencies. Other topics discussed were crime situation in the municipality, drug abuse efforts, Safety Seal Implementation, and the number and status of cases and updates on COVID-19 vaccination in the Municipality.
This activity is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
