53IB Commander Appreciates Troops, Shows Gratitude for Selfless Service

The Commanding Officer of Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera awarded military merit medals to seven (7) Matapat Troopers and presented certificates of recognition to seven (7) CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) during his visit to Sitio Parke Patrol Base in the far-flung barangay of Mangilay in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte on July 2, 2021.

The medals were awarded for the Matapat Troopers’ meritorious performance and invaluable service rendered to this unit,” said 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera in a statement.

Awarding of deserving troops is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
