Recognition of Excellence | Matapat Troopers Receive Military Medals, Certificate of Recognition

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) recognized the excellence of Matapat Troopers by according military medals and certificates of recognition during the Flag Raising Ceremony at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Major Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on July 5, 2021.

The Military Merit Medal was given to eleven (11) Matapat Troopers for their meritorious performance and invaluable service rendered in support to the mission accomplishment of Western Mindanao Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines resulting to the capture of numerous weapons and war materials at Zamboanga Peninsula, as the award citation reads.

The Certificates of Recognition were also given to four (4) CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) for their invaluable service rendered and outstanding performance as member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Delta Company.

This activity is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
