PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN | 53IB Distributes 100 Copies of Breaking Free Book

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) distributed 100 copies of the book “Breaking Free” to the Municipality of Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur on June 28, 2021.

The books were received by Pitogo mayor James L. Yecyec. The “Breaking Free” book features detailed narrations of actual accounts of young people’s fateful journeys who were recruited and once deceived by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) but were able to surrender and went back to the folds of the law.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation toward becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
