PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT | 53IB ENSURES ENVIRONMENT SECURITY; CONDUCTS ANTI-ILLEGAL LOGGING INSPECTION

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) conducted anti-illegal logging inspection in Barangay Lukuan, Lakewood Zamboanga del Sur on July 1. 2021.

There were more or less 8097 board feet of Mahogany lumbers inspected in Barangay Lukuan, the loading and transporting of which have complete legal papers. During the inspection, the 53IB was accompanied by DENR Enforcement and Monitoring Officer Lito Miguel Cabildo and Barangay Lukuan Lukuan Edimar Pulgo.

This activity is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
