PEOPLE EMPOWERMENT: Army enkindles community’s sense of patriotism, conducts feeding program

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) enkindled the patriotism of the hinterland sitio of Bukana in Barangay Saad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur by conducting a flag raising on 29 June 2021.

Mass Base Operations Team of 53IB’s Bravo Company led by Sgt Glenn Tamula also conducted a feeding program and information leaflet distribution to communicate the government’s efforts in helping Communist-NPA Terrorist surrenderees should they lay down their arms and go back to the folds of law.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
